VenkatramanA series of some novel benzoxazoles were synthesized and evaluated for anti microbial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. The reaction of aniline compounds with ammonium thiocyanate and bromine in glacial acetic acid yield 4-thiocyanoaniline.The title compounds were synthesized by treating 4-thiocyanoaniline with oaminophenol and carbon-di-sulphide. Their structures were confirmed by IR , 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. Antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi ,anti-inflammatory activity and analgesic activity were studied for the synthesized compounds.
