An evaluation of task specific basic ionic liquid [bmIm] OH for the synthesis of 4-iminothiazolidinone ring from 2-chloro-N-(4-morpholinophenyl) acetamide followed by Knovengel condensation with aryl aldehyde using [bmIm] OH , in absence of solvent with good yields than the conventional reagent. Green reaction conditions and reusability of catalyst are the most remarkable features of this synthetic method.
