In the present work, series of target compounds 3-(5-(2-chloro-4-nitrophenyl)furan-2-yl)-1-(1-(substitued phenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (3a-3g) were prepared by Claisen Scmidt Condensation of (5-(2-chloro-4-nitrophenyl)furan-2-carbaldehyde)) with substituted triazole ketones in the presence of ethanolic potassium hydroxide solution. Synthesised compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis and spectral analysis i.e. using IR, Mass and NMR Spectroscopy, Further the synthesized compounds were screened for antibacterial activity. All the synthesized compounds exhibited quite promising activity against gram positive and gram negative bacterial strains.
