A series of novel 1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones(2a-h) have been synthesiszed from isoxazolyl hydrazide-hydrazone derivatives(1a-h).These hydrazide-hydrazone derivatives undergoes cyclocondensation with mercaptoacetic acid in dioxane in the presence of anhydrous zinc chloride give title compounds in good yields(Table-I). Structure of all the synthesized compounds have been established on the basis of IR, 1HNMR and Mass spectral data.
