Isolation and elucidation of some chemical constituents of Lavandula officinalis
Abstract
Dry leaves powder of Lavandula officinalis chaix was extracted by different polarity solvents then the resulted extracts were purified by column chromatography. Four compounds were i solated and fully identified. The characterization was carried out using different spectrophotometric methods including 1H, 13CNMR, IR and Mass spectra. The isolated compounds were pentacyclic triterpene alcohol uvaol, 7-methoxycoumarin, 3-epiursolic acid in addition to the flavonoid glycoside luteolin-3ˊ-O-glucoside.
