Estimation of zaleplon by a new RP-HPLC method
Abstract
A Simple, Sensitive and specific reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of Zaleplon tablet Dosage Forms. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a Symmetry C8 (250×4.6 mm), 5.0 µm column with a 60:25:15mixture of 0.02M potassium dihydrogen phosphate w/v, acetonitrile v/v and methanol v/v as mobile phase, detection was at 240 nm. Response was a linear function of concentration in the range 2-0.01 µg/mL for Zaleplon. LOD and LOQ for Zaleplon were found 0.01 mg/L and 0.03 mg/L. Accuracy (recoveries 92-98%) and reproducibility were found to satisfactory.
