It is an interdisciplinary field that combines knowledge from chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and other related fields. Pharmaceutical sciences play a crucial role in the development of new drugs and therapies for treating various diseases and conditions. The process of drug discovery and development involves a long and complex series of steps that require the integration of multiple scientific disciplines. The first step in drug discovery is the identification of a potential target or pathway for drug intervention. This can involve identifying a specific enzyme, receptor, or other molecule that plays a role in a disease process. Once a target is identified, researchers can begin to develop compounds that interact with the target in a specific way.
