The root barks of Zizyphus rugosa were extracted wi th water, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol to determine their anti-inflammatory and a nalgesic activities, Aqueous extract (50, 100 mg/kg) given intraperitoneally (i.p.) showed a sign ificant and dose-dependent anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
