KhanA series of 3-(substitutedphenyl)-1-(7-substitutedcoumarin-3-yl)prop-2-ene-1-ones was synthesized by the condensation of 5-substituted-3-acetylcoumarins with four chlorosubstituted aromatic aldehydes. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of IR and, 1H-NMR. These compounds were further evaluated for their antimicrobial activity.
