Phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of the plant yielded rare Nitrile glucosides, Ehretioside A1 1 and Lithospermoside (Griflonin) 2. The structures of the compounds were established on the basis of various NMR and Mass spectral data. The cyano-containing compounds 1 and 2 were isolated for the first time from C. procumbens.
